Godly grief is working in you to change your moral position - 2 Corinthians 6:14-18, 2 Corinthians 7:8-10
2 Corinthians 6:14-18
14 Be ye not unequally (not just nu epically, yoked with another who is different) yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship (partaking, sharing) hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord (agreement) hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
2 Corinthians 7:8-10
8 For though I made you sorry (grieved) with a letter, I do not repent (to rue, regret; to have dissatisfaction with oneself for what one has done. To have pain in mind rather than change in mind), though I did repent: for I perceive that the (that) same epistle hath made you sorry (grieved), though it were but for a season.
9 Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry (grief), but that ye sorrowed (grieved) to repentance (a real change of mind from sin itself; change of moral thought : from sin nature to spiritual nature; alway for the better): for ye were made sorry (grieved) after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage (suffer loss) by us in nothing.
10 For godly sorrow (grief) worketh (to work out) repentance (a real change of mind from sin itself; change of moral thought : from sin nature to spiritual nature; alway for the better) to salvation not to be repented (regretted) of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death
