Rejoice and pray without ceasing - 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11, 1 Thessalonians 5:15-21
1 Thessalonians 5:9-11
9 For (because) God hath not appointed us to (the coming) wrath, but to obtain (obtaining) salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together (united) with him.
11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
1 Thessalonians 5:15-21
15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
16 Rejoice (be delighted, pleased, glad) evermore (always, eternally).
17 Pray (pray to God) without ceasing (unceasing, without intermission).
18 In (resting within) every thing give thanks (to show oneself thankful): for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning (in regards to) you.
19 Quench (extinguish, hinder, repress) not the Spirit (operations of the holy spirit and gifts) .
20 Despise (treat as contemptible) not prophesyings (to speak forth as directed by the spirit).
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
