Proverbs 16:1-7

16 The preparations (arrangements, plans) of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue (decree), is from the Lord.

Bullinger: “To man (pertain) the plans of his heart; but from Jehovah (comes) the final decree”

2 All the ways of a man are clean (pure) in his own eyes; but the Lord weigheth (with moral and spiritual weights) the spirits.

3 Commit thy works (actions) unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established (stand fast, upright).

4 The Lord hath made all things for himself (His decree, His own end): yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

5 Every one that is proud (high, proud) in heart is an abomination (morally disgusting) to the Lord: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished (made clean).

6 By mercy (grace, lovingkindness) and truth iniquity (perverseness) is purged (covered, "sealed"): and by the fear (reverential awe) of the Lord men depart from evil.

7 When a man's ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

2 Peter 1:2

2 Grace (God's loving disposition) and peace (the state of undisturbed well being) be multiplied (make you full) unto you through (through the instrument of) the knowledge (a true and personal relationship and heed the advice) of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
