You are reconciled or reconnected to God through Christ - Romans 5:5-11
Romans 5:5-11
5 And hope (expectation of future good) maketh not ashamed (not cause shame); because the love of God is shed abroad (to shed, blood to pour out, to kill) in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is (was) given unto us.
6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ (the messiah) died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely (wit labor pains) for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure (perhaps) for a good man some (one) would even dare (venture) to die.
8 But God commendeth (put together, to introduce to one's acquaintance) his love toward (unto, in direction) us, in that (because), while we were yet sinners, Christ (the messiah) died for us.
9 Much more then, being now justified (set forth as righteous) by (remaining within) his blood (Jesus Christ's blood) we shall be saved (to make sound) from wrath through him.
10 For if, when we were enemies (object of emnity), we were reconciled (to change against anything; a change that the opposite party lays aside its enmity) to God by (out from) the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through (the dividing line) our Lord Jesus Christ, by (out from) whom we have now received the atonement (restoration to favor).
