1 John 3:22-24
22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth (abideth) in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit (new spiritual nature) which he hath given (gave) us.
1 John 5:1-4
5 Whosoever believeth (to have faith) that Jesus is the Christ is born (begotten, sired) of God: and every one that loveth him that begat (born, sired) loveth him also that is begotten (born, sired) of him.
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3 For this is the love of God, that (in order that) we keep (guard) his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous (burdensome).
4 For (because) whatsoever is born (begotten, sired) of God overcometh (to be victorious, conquer) the world (kosmos): and this is the victory (victory in battle) that overcometh (conquer, victorious) the world, even our faith.
