Be disciplined and take root – Proverbs 12:1-7, Proverbs 12:11, Proverbs 12:14
Proverbs 12:1-7
12 Whoso loveth instruction (discipline, correction) loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish (concretely stupid).
2 A good man (ish: a great man, a Godly man) of the Lord: but a man of wicked (lawless) devices will he condemn.
3 A man (adam) shall not be established (to be erect, stand perpendicular) by wickedness (lawlessness): but the root of the righteous (one’s) shall not be moved.
4 A virtuous (worthy) woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed (to pale in color; become dry, to be ashamed) is as rottenness in his bones.
5 The thoughts (plans) of the righteous are right (just): but the counsels (steering or direction) of the wicked (lawless) are deceit (deception).
6 The words (a spoken thing) of the wicked (lawless) are to lie in wait (lurk, ambush) for blood (that which causeth death, bloodshed) : but the mouth (the mouth (as a means of blowing)) of the upright (one’s) shall deliver (defend, escape) them.
7 The wicked are overthrown (to turn about or over, perverted), and are not (there is nothing left): but the house of the righteous shall stand (arise, continue, endure, establish).
Proverbs 12:11, Proverbs 12:14
11 He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.
14 A man (ish: a great man, a Godly man) shall be satisfied (fill to satisfaction, have plenty) with good by the fruit (produce) of his mouth: and the recompence (reward) of a man’s hands shall be rendered unto him.
