God’s promise and our inheritance – Galatians 3:6-9, Genesis 17:1-7 Galatians 3:6-9 6 Even as Abraham believed (to have faith) God, and it was accounted (imputed, reckoned) to him for righteousness (the doing or being what is just and right). 7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. 8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify (set forth as righteous) the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. 9 So then they which be of (out from) faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. [00:00:08] Speaker A: Today and I hope you are excited today because today is the day the Lord hath made. We will be glad. [00:00:13] Speaker B: We will rejoice in it. Rejoice in every single moment that you. [00:00:16] Speaker A: Have under the sun in this cosmos, in this arrangement. [00:00:20] Speaker B: Be thankful, be happy. [00:00:21] Speaker A: Continually give God that sacrifice. [00:00:23] Speaker B: Praise. Praise him and thank him and be joyful. [00:00:27] Speaker A: I. I'm gonna try to do the teaching I was going to do yesterday. I got on that whole. Not ramp, but that whole thing about how, you know, it's God. It's God. It's what God? It's what you know. We have a million thoughts revolving in our mind, but it's God's word that brings comfort. It's God's word and promises that blesses you. I don't know if you've ever heard of the book God's Promises. I used to listen to it all the time. And it just goes through kind of systematically and talks about where God says he's going to be there as a ro. He's going to be there to take care of you. Like Psalm 62 talks about, he is our refuge. From him comes my expectation. I mean, it's from God that comes your expectation of future good work out, your own safety, your own salvation with God. It's always between you and God. It's not between you and the church. It's not between you and, you know, your significant other. It's between you and God. And God will work with you and through you to help you. It even talks about in here where you don't even need a teacher when you start to read the Word. The Holy Spirit will help you and work with you to teach you. He does so many things, and it's just such a blessing. But this morning I wanted to go through Galatians. This is kind of where it sets forth that it was to Abram and his seed, Abraham, and his seed was God that God make the promise. But it was Abraham's seed, Christ Jesus, because it went through Mary. It's like the whole lineage all the way down. It was of his seed that the promise came. And we'll go through that. If you go to Galatians, chapter three, verse six, it says, even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Know ye that, or know you therefore, that they which are of faith, they are the same of the children of Abraham in the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify or Set forth as righteous the heathen or the nations through, through faith or on the grounds of faith preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying in the shall all nations be blessed? It was the promise made to Abraham. I'll keep going. So then they which are of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. Now I'm going to go through what this blessedness of faithful Abrahams is. This is where it all started. If you don't know the heritage or our heritage, this is the beginning. If you go to Genesis, chapter 17, verse 1, it says, and when Abram was 90 years old and 9, the Lord appeared to him and said to him, I am the Almighty God. Walk or continue to walk before me and be thou perfect and I will make my covenant between me and the and will multiply the exceedingly God came to Abraham and said, I'm going to be a God. Well, you'll see, he just said, walk before me and I. And I will multiply thy seed exceedingly. Verse 3. And Abraham fell on his face, face. And God talked with him, saying, as for me, behold, my covenant is with thee. And thou shalt be a father of many nations. Neither shall thy name anymore be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham. For a father of many nations have I made thee. And I will make the exceedingly fruitful, or greatly or great fruitful. And I will make nations of thee and kings shall come out of thee. Now I want to first off say this. God spoke to Abraham. God speaks to you and will speak to you. You just got to turn to him. I mean, what's incredible is these, the, the people before us God spoke to or worked with, and they had the Holy Spirit upon them. It could be taken away based on their acts. But that's not who you are. That's not the inheritance. The portion that you have. You have the Holy Spirit in you. You are born spiritually new. That spirit can never be taken away, ever. And you are righteous right now. You are born out from the origins of God. You are spiritually righteous in God's eyes. The way God looks at you. He looks at you as perfect because you are perfect. That spirit cannot be tainted. But the point is, you talk to God. He talked to him. He went to him in times of trouble and in times of need. You have that access only you have a better inheritance than Abraham did. And he is a. And he's a father of many nations. Verse 7. And I will establish my covenant, my promise between me and thee and thy seed or thy children after thee in their generations for an Everlasting covenant to be a God unto thee and, and to thy seed after thee. This is where it all starts. God said he would be a God to him. He was not God to anyone else or anyone else's seed. He was a God to Abraham and his seed. That's where the Judeans came from. They are the children of Israel. The children of Israel being Abraham. And then Israel was his son and his children. He is a God to his children. But it all changed with Christ Jesus. And that's what's so amazing. You are a son of God right now and you have access to the promises that God made to Abraham, to his seed. And it's all through and based on faith. That's the inheritance that you received. And now that we are sitting in the heavenlies, we are ambassadors not to go out there and you know, do all these things. We have sovereignty, God's sovereignty with us. We, we walk under God's laws and we are upon this earth. But for a moment, you are sitting and resting in conjunction with, right next to Christ Jesus right now in the seat of power because of the Holy Spirit that rests within you. It is incredible what we've been given. And we're going to go through trials and tribulations, tribulations, work with patience, patience experience and experience, hope and hope. The expectation of future good work will never cause you shame. That's what's written. We're going to go through that. But it's all to get to know God, to work on the patience and the godliness which we have received. And godliness is the inward expression. It's the relationship with God, not the ceremonial expression which is like going to church. That's not what godliness is. It's between you and God. And you speak to God and you have access to God. You, you have the Holy Spirit in you. Once you confess in the name of Jesus Christ, it's incredible where we live and what we have right now. And I'm just so thankful that I'm getting to do this right now because it's a blessing when you start to see and read new things. And that's the thing. You got to get to know the Word for yourself. You got to work the Word for yourself. And you need to read the King James Version because it's the most accurate and we are to be workman's for the word. Bam. Have a great day today. Have a beautiful day today. Pray the big prayers again. You have access to those prayers. You can go to God in any situation. Pray the big Prayers. Pray the small prayers. And when I say big prayers, it's anything that's going on in your life, any situation, any. Anything that's going on, you go to God, you pray to God, declare your prayers, lifting them up in the name of Jesus Christ. You do not pray to Christ. It will not go anywhere. You pray to God, lifting it up in the name of Jesus Christ. Have a great day. God bless you and your family, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. Well, Heavenly Father, thank you so much just for again today and for your. [00:08:14] Speaker B: Word and how much of a blessing it is. I thank you for the people that. [00:08:18] Speaker A: Are out there, that you just take. [00:08:19] Speaker B: Care of them and that you bless them. I pray for everything that's going on, that. That there's comfort knowing that you're taking care of each and every situation. I pray for the business, for continual growth. I also pray that we make the right decisions concerning what to invest in, what not to invest in, the people to bring on the next steps, just everything that's going on, that you also, again, just fill up the foundation so we can continually move and we don't have to do anything. And yeah, I just am very, very grateful for the moments that we. That we have, the things you put in our life, and for your word again, and for your son, that he died for us so we could live this way. [00:08:55] Speaker A: I lift up a great day to. [00:08:56] Speaker B: You in the name of my Lord. [00:08:57] Speaker A: And Savior Christ Jesus.
