Pray – Matthew 6:5-8, Psalms 142:1-4 Matthew 6:5-8 5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. 7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for […]

[00:00:01] Speaker A: Good morning. [00:00:02] Speaker B: Good morning. [00:00:02] Speaker A: How are you on this fine, fine, beautiful day? Hope you're having a great day today. I hope you are excited today because today's the day the Lord hath made. We'll be glad. [00:00:12] Speaker B: We will rejoice in it. [00:00:13] Speaker A: Rejoice in every single moment that you have under the sun in this cosmos, in this arrangement. Be thankful, be happy, continually give God that sacrifice. [00:00:21] Speaker B: Praise. Praise him and thank him. [00:00:23] Speaker A: Busy weekend? Absolutely slammed weekend, but we're back at it. Here we go again. I. I've been reading a lot about, I don't know the thoughts and I've again just giving it to God, putting it in his hands, putting the situations in his hands. This morning I woke up kind of just thinking about everything that needs to get done and, you know, going through these emotional waves. And the thing is, is the word of God will cut through both the emotional, the emotional revolvings of the line of your mind and also the thoughts and everything your mind thinks. So when you put the word in, it's going to clean up your thoughts. And when you have those negative thoughts or when you feel, quote, unquote, feel negative, you got to go to God. You got to put the situation in his hand and move on. I was reading in Matthew, chapter six, and I want to go over praying, because when you pray, you're to pray to God. You're not to pray in prayers of repetition, which I always think is interesting considering, like the quote unquote, Lord's Lord's Prayer. But I'm going to go through this. If you go to chapter five or six, verse five, it says, and when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are. For they love pray. They love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, they shall have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou has shut thy door, pray to the Father which is in secret, and thy Father, which seeth in secret, secret shall reward the openly. You don't need to go into a closet and pray. But the point is, it's not about the outward appearance of praying. Praying to God again, these words are praying to God, not to Jesus Christ. Praying to God. When you pray, you're to pray prayers of personal need, prayers of supplication, but not for men, for you. Verse 7. And when ye pray, use not vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they shall be heard for their much Speaking, you're not to use prayers of repetition. You're to use prayers of personal need. In Philippians, it talks about be cautious or anxious for not one thing, but in all things, by prayers to God and supplication, which are prayers of personal need. With thanksgiving, thanking God, let your specific request be made known or declared unto God. And the peace of God surpassing understanding or all thought will keep and guard and fortify your hearts and minds through Christ. The thing is, is when you pray, you pray to God prayers of personal need. And it's not prayers of repetition. It's not reading the Lord's Prayer over and over and over again. That's not. That's reading as the heathen do, that they think they shall be heard for their much speaking. We have the relationship and the opportunity to build the relationship with God or on a personal need, work out your own safety, your own salvation with God. Talks about that. I want to finish up with this. If you go to Psalms chapter 142, verse 1, it says, I cried unto the Lord with my voice. With my voice unto the Lord did I make my supplication, make my prayer of personal need. I poured out my complaint before him. I. I showed before him my trouble when my spirit was overwhelmed within me. Then thou knewest my path. God knows the direction that you're to go in. The preparations are to man pertain the plans of the heart. But from God or Jehovah comes the final decree. Like God knows the path you're to take. God knows everything that's going on in your life. Go to God, pray to him those prayers of personal need and move on. But while you're doing that, give those negative thoughts, put those thoughts into God's hands and watch him provide the things that he needs to provide for you. Have a phenomenal day today. Pray the small prayers, pray the big prayers. Pray prayers of personal need. With that sacrifice of thanksgiving, when you pray, it's always to God. It's never to Jesus Christ. You pray to God, lifting it up in the name of Jesus Christ. Have a great day today. God bless you and your family. I'll talk to you tomorrow. Well, Heavenly Father, thank you so much. [00:05:01] Speaker B: Just for everything that's going on. I pray for my brother again in his hand. I just. [00:05:05] Speaker A: It's been weighing on my heart that you take care of it, that he [00:05:08] Speaker B: gets full function back, 100% function, and that he can move his finger left or right. I thank you again for just the blessings that you provide us. How you are constantly there for us just for your miracles that you've produced throughout the years. And I pray for the business, everything that's going on there, that we can get everything that needs to get done out, that during this really busy time, that we can get through it, and that it's a blessing to everybody that we work with and that it's done [00:05:35] Speaker A: in a way that doesn't freak people out. Again, I just thank you for the [00:05:39] Speaker B: moments of my life and just for everything you do for me and. And my family. [00:05:43] Speaker A: I lift up a great day to you. In the name my Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.
