Proverbs 19:1-3

19 Better is the poor (a needy one) that walketh (behaves, exercise) in his integrity (complete, prosperity, moral innocence) , than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.

² Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.

³ The foolishness (weakness of intellect, want of understanding, conduct contrary to God) perverteth (subverted, overthrow) his way: and his heart fretteth (angry with) against the Lord.

⁸ He that getteth wisdom (of heart) loveth his own soul: he that keepeth (guards, protects) understanding shall find good.

¹¹ The discretion (prudence) of a man deferreth (to make long, draws out, lengthen) his anger; and it is his glory (beauty, honor, majesty) to pass over a transgression.

²¹ There are many devices (many schemes) in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand.
