Stand being surrounded by the truth of the word - Ephesians 6:10-18
Ephesians 6:10-18
Finally (from henceforth), my brethren, be strong (empowered) in the Lord, and in the power (exhorted strength) of his might.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand (as opposed to falling, stand fast, still) against the wiles (method, cunning device, craftiness) of the devil.
For we wrestle (for to us the wrestling is) not against (literal direction) flesh and blood (ie. human beings), but against principalities (the chief rule or ruler), against powers (delayed powers, the right and liberty to put forth power) against (towards) the rulers (world rulers) of the darkness (the present order of things) of this world, against (against) spiritual (hosts) wickedness (the wicked acting of the evil nature) in high places (the heavenliness).
Wherefore (On account of this) take unto you (up) the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand (to set oneself against, withstand, oppose, resist) in the evil day (perpetually because the days are evil), and having done all, to stand (stand firm).
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with (remaining within) truth, and having (put) on the breastplate of righteousness;
And your feet shod with the preparation (readiness, hence preparedness arising from) of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench (put out, extinguish) all the fiery darts of the wicked (satanic temptations).
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Praying (to God) always (on every occasion) with (for or with respect to) all prayer (vows to God) and supplication (personal prayers of need) in (remaining within) the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance (strangeness or firmness towards) and supplication (want or need) for all saints;
