1 John 5:1-5
5 Whosoever believeth (to have faith) that Jesus is the Christ is born (begotten, born, sired) of God: and every one that loveth him that begat (begotten, born, sired) loveth him also that is begotten (begotten, born, sired) of him.
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3 For this is the love of God, that (in order that, to the the end that) we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
4 For (because) whatsoever is born of God overcometh (conquer, to be victorious) the world (the kosmos: this arrangement): and this is the victory (in battle) that overcometh the world (the kosmos), even our faith.
5 Who is he that overcometh (conquer, victorious) the world (kosmos), but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
