Christ is bringing you into God's love - 2 Thessalonians 1-5, 1 John 4:16-18

2 Thessalonians 1-5

3 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord (Christ) may have free course and be glorified (run or triumph gloriously), even as it is with you:

2 And that we may be delivered (to draw or snatch from danger) from unreasonable (out of place, out of the way, strange, unnatural) and wicked men (evil in nature, bad, ill) for all men have not faith.

3 But the Lord (Christ) is faithful, who shall stablish (set fast, establish) you, and keep (gaurd) you from evil (the wicked one).

4 And we have confidence (faith) in (resting within) the Lord (Christ) touching (on account of) you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command (charge) you.

5 And the Lord (Christ) direct (guide) your hearts into (motion to the end) the love of God, and into the patient (patience as) waiting for Christ.

1 John 4:15-18

15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

18 There is not fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
