Better is the sight of the eyes – Ecclesiastes 6:1-10 Ecclesiastes 6:1-10 6 There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, and it is common among men: 2 A man (ish) to whom God (Elohim) hath given riches, wealth, and honour, so that he wanteth nothing for his soul (himself) of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not power to eat thereof (to enjoy it – modern language translation), but a stranger eateth it: this is vanity, and it is an evil disease. 3 If a man beget an hundred children, and live many years, so that the […]

[00:00:01] Good morning. Good morning. How are you on this fine, fine, beautiful day? Hope you're having a great day today. I hope you are excited today because today is the day that the Lord hath made. We'll be glad. We will rejoice in it. Rejoice in every single moment you have under the sun in this cosmos, in this arrangement. Be thankful, be happy. Continually give God that sacrifice. Praise. Praise him and thank him. [00:00:23] Like I said, I'm going to be in and out. [00:00:25] It might be like a month or so that I'm kind of in and out, super, super busy. But I just wanted to read a little bit. I think what I'm going to try to do on these days is just read and kind of go from there. Maybe not go too deep, but if you go to Ecclesiastes. I always love Ecclesiastes because it's little nuggets of information. It's a way to frame your mind. It's a way to change your mind. Listen to what God says and kind of. [00:00:50] I like to elevate. What God says is important. There's nothing better than to eat and to drink and to enjoy the good of your labor. That's something I really, really rested on. [00:01:00] Even if you're not financially doing the best, but you're eating well and you're drinking well, you have to know that you're taking care of, of God, that you're blessed beyond measure. [00:01:09] And we're blessed in so many ways. But I want to go over Ecclesiastes chapter six this morning. Verse one. It says, there is an evil which I have seen under the sun, and it is common among men. A man to whom God hath given riches and wealth and honor, so that he wanteth nothing for his soul of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not the power to eat thereof, or to enjoy it, but a stranger eateth it. This is vanity and an evil disease. [00:01:38] You have to enjoy what God's given you. You have to enjoy the fruits of your labor. It's easy. And, well, it's easy to just want to accumulate and not to enjoy it. [00:01:52] Verse 3. If a man beget a hundred children and live many years, so that the days of his years be many, and his soul be not satisfied with good, and also that he have no burial, I say that an untimely birth or a premature birth is better than he. For he cometh in with vanity, and he departeth in destruction or darkness, and his name shall be covered with darkness, he can have a hundred kids. But if you don't do good in your life. [00:02:22] It's better to be a premature baby. [00:02:26] And that's a sad way of looking at it, but it is what it is. [00:02:30] You have to choose to do good. There's so many times. [00:02:34] I mean, there's a choice you have. There's so many choices in life. And you know what's right and you know what's wrong. Luckily, you're righteous. The minute you believe in the name of Jesus Christ, you're righteous with God, so you're upright in God's eyes. But there are effect, there are causes and effects in life, in this life specifically, and you got to do good. [00:02:53] Verse 5. Moreover, he hath not seen the sun, nor known anything. This hath more rest than the other. Yea, though he live a thousand years, twice told, yet he hath seen no good. Do not all go to one place. All the labor or the toil of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled. [00:03:13] Is this not true? There's also a thing. Well, actually, in Ecclesiastes 5, he that loveth silver, verse 10, he that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver, nor he that loveth abundance with increase. This is also vanity. [00:03:29] You're always. You always are going to want more. You're never going to be satisfied in the thing that you are trying to accomplish. If you're trying to, I don't know, accumulate silver, there's never going to be enough. If you're trying to get a bigger company is never going to be big enough. You're not going to be satisfied in that. [00:03:46] You're going to be satisfied with God, though spiritually. [00:03:50] Especially when you start looking through the prism of this life in a spiritual context, God takes care of you. It's from Him. And there's a reason and a purpose for everything. A time and a season, which. Maybe I'll go over tomorrow. [00:04:05] Verse 7. All the labor of a man is for his mouth, yet the appetite is not filled. For what hath the wise more than the fool, and what hath the fool that knoweth the walk before the living. And better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desire. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit. Better is the sight of the eyes for what's seen thereby than the wondering of the desire for what's pursued. [00:04:31] If you're somebody who lives in your mind constantly pursuing, you have to tell yourself, better is the sight of the eyes. Better is to look around and live in now. Be where your feet are or I don't know what that's saying. Stand where your feet are or something like that. Someone just said that to me the other day. [00:04:49] Actually, I think. I think it was my trainer. Anyways, better is the sight of the eyes. [00:04:55] Stay in today, not in the future. [00:04:59] And that's also hard too, when. [00:05:02] When the future, like bills are due or whatever is due. Stay in today and be blessed thereby. [00:05:10] Have a phenomenal day today. Pray the big prayers, pray the small prayers. When you pray, it's always to God, never to Jesus Christ. You pray to God, lifting it up in the name of Jesus Christ with that sacrifice of thanksgiving. God tells us to pray constantly, and I appreciate that. Have a great day today. God bless you and your family. I'll talk to you tomorrow. [00:05:35] I don't have the fear. [00:05:43] Well, Heavenly Father, thank you so much just for everything you do. I'm very, very thankful for the golf game last week. Last week, although yesterday was a nightmare. I pray that you continually show me that. I pray for the. Just the abundance of the business, for the. For the bank account that you continually just provide. And I thank you for that great abundance of last week, but also for the future that you just continually to just continually, I don't know, provide. I'm thankful that I can lean on you with that. I thank you for my family, for the business, for everybody that we work with. You would continually show us what to do with those situations. And again, I thank you for your word and how much of a blessing it is. And just to get me back mentally, just with everything, I lift up a great day to you. In the name of my Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.
