Hebrews 6:1-2, Hebrews 6:17-19 – We have the hope which steadies your life

Hebrews 6:1-2

Therefore leaving (having left) the principles of the doctrine (word) of Christ (the messiah), let us go on (be born along) unto perfection (completeness or perfectness; that which has reached its full end); not laying again the foundation of repentance (a change of mind from sin itself to spiritual) from dead works, and of faith toward God,

Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

Hebrews 6:17-19

17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability (unchangeableness) of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

18 That by two immutable (unchangeable) things, in (remaining within) which it was (is) impossible for God to lie, we might (may) have a strong consolation (a summoning to one’s side), who have fled (fled) for refuge (shelter or protection) to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

19 Which hope we have as an anchor (that which gives stability and security; thrown to rest a ship) of the soul, both sure and stedfast (firm and steady), and which entereth into that within the veil;
