Remain within the high calling – Colossians 3:1-2, Colossians 3:12-15

Colossians 3:1-2

3 If ye then be risen (were raised with) with Christ, seek (endeavor to find) those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

² Set your affection (mind) on things above, not on things on the earth (land).

Colossians 3:12-15

¹² Put on (like a tee shirt) therefore, as the elect (chosen) of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies (subjective compassion: felt on witnessing his misfortune), kindness (sweetness of disposition, in-spite of ingratitude), humbleness (modesty) of mind, meekness (enduring all things with an even temper), longsuffering;

¹³ Forbearing (to hold up) one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

¹⁴ And above all these things put on charity (love), which is the bond of perfectness.

¹⁵ And let the peace of God (Christ) rule (be umpire) in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
