Strive to enter into God’s rest – Hebrews 3:12-13, Hebrews 4:8-12
Hebrews 3:12-13
12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil (full of labors and pains of working mischief) heart of unbelief, in departing (falling away) from the living God.
13 But exhort (to call near, every kind of speaking to which is mean to produce a particular effect; exhortation, comfort, encouragement) one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened (to make dry hard, stiff) through the deceitfulness (self deception, deceit; especially by false statements) of sin.
9 There remaineth therefore a rest (rest day) to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased (rested) from his own works, as God did from his (own).
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after (resting within) the same example of unbelief.
12 For the word (spoken) of God is quick (living), and powerful (strength and effectual in operation), and sharper (more cutting) than (above) any twoedged sword, piercing (passing through) even to the dividing asunder (the act of dividing) of soul and spirit (natural and spiritual man), and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner (skilled in judging) of the thoughts (secret motives, emotional revolving of the mind) and intents (what is in the mind, idea) of the heart (the seat of ones distinctive character).
